Follow these tips for glowing skin after 30

As a Hijabi woman, your face is your focal point, so it’s even more important to take extra good care of your skin. Everyone wants that glowing, radiant, smooth skin. When you’re young, it doesn’t take much effort to achieve that look–your youth does it for you. But as we age, we want to embrace our natural beauty and keep our skin looking lively and healthy. Luckily, it doesn’t take much to maintain healthy skin–especially these days. There is no shortage of home remedies or retail products to keep your skin looking the best. We’re going to go over a few tips to keep you looking happy, healthy, and glowing as you age.

Wear Sunscreen

This one might seem like a no-brainer, but many people forget this one. If you live in a hot, sunny environment, definitely invest in some good sunscreen. The sun can damage your skin, kill skin cells, and cause ageing and wrinkling. Sunscreen at least SPF 50 or more will help protect your skin, keeping it moisturised, and blocking harmful rays from the sun.

Hydrate

We are 75% water, and our largest organ is our skin! It’s important to keep everything nice and hydrated. A deficiency of moisture in your system can seriously damage your skin (in addition to countless other health defects). Women should be drinking approximately 3 litres of water per day! Doing so will keep your body and skin delightfully healthy.

Exfoliate

Every 2-3 weeks, your face needs to shed a layer of skin, to be replaced by a new one. By exfoliating, you help get rid of that old layer of skin that your body is shedding. Be careful, though. Exfoliating more than once a week can cause damage to your new layer of skin, dry it out, and cause irritation. Try out a bead or chemical exfoliant and see how smooth your skin becomes!

Diet

Watching what you eat is an important part of your skincare routine, too. Too much salt and sugar (and anything, really) can affect your skin health and cause you to break out. It’s best to eat simple, whole foods that are natural, balanced, and full of water and fibre. Fruits and vegetables are your best friend. So are small portions of lean meat. Or, if you don’t eat meat, go for some beans or soy.

CMT

The CMT routine is a classic because it works. Cleanser, Toner, Moisturiser. Find products that are in your budget, and work well on your skin. Brands like Cera Ve and Neutrogena are good budget brands to start with. Try out a trio of a cleanser, toner, and moisturiser and get into a routine, and watch how your skin glows!
