Determining Your Skin Tone.
This could be a daunting task as most people including men for this matter, don’t know how to differentiate between skin tone and skin complexion. You must have heard people talking of being brown, chocolate, black, or even white. Well, that’s your skin complexion and not your skin tone. Your skin tone is the shade of your skin that remains the same no matter how much you get burn by the sun. Your skin tone can be described as light, medium, or dark.
Understanding your skin tone is a must to choosing the right hijab color. There are several ways of identifying the skin tone (light, medium or dark ) but I am going to dwell on two that are easy to carry out. So, let’s get started!
Check your vein color on the inside part of your wrist.
This is the easiest and the fastest way to determine your skin tone if you have visible veins. Just hold your arm up in light and see the predominant color.
- If your veins appear bluish or green, then you could be having a medium or neutral tone.
- If they appear green, then you have a light skin tone.
- If your veins look purple or blue, then you have a dark tone.
Consider how your skin reacts to sunburns.
How your skin reacts to sunburns can be used to determine your skin tone hence helpful in choosing the right hijab color.
- If you rarely burn but tan easily, then it means you have more melanin and you could either be having medium or dark skin tone.
- If you burn easily but your skin doesn’t tan, then it means you have less melanin and your skin tone is light.
Well, the above methods will help you determine your skill tone without necessarily stepping into a dermatologist’s office. Now that you know your skin tone, what else? It’s time to look at the available hijab colors that fit skin tone. So, here is a guide on how to choose the right hijab color that will blend with your skin tone and coordinate with your outfit colors in the best way possible.
Finding the Right Hijab Color that Compliments Your Skin Tone.
Fashion is not all about picking the latest attires in the market but rather finding the right piece of attire that will make you look modest. Hijabs, when worn accordingly, can enhance your fashion quotient and make you look stunning among your peers. Most women find it difficult to choose the right hijab color and blending it with their skin tone. However, there are a wide variety of fashionable hijabs in the market and blending them with your skin tone can be an amazing experience.
Light Skin Tone:
Light skin tone has a lot of variations but that does not mean you can’t find the right hijab color that fits your skin tone. Generally, women with light skin tone look good in dark and bold colors. A black hijab is a great investment for any light skin lady that is looking for a great color suitable for almost all occasions. So, as a general rule of the thump, a black hijab should not miss in your wardrobe.
Where black may not be your color of choice, soft colors such as nude pink hijab can also go well with your light skin tone. Ladies love pink colors, so I guess you won’t have problems wearing a pink hijab.
If pink colors are not your potion, then yellow is another great hijab color that will definitely match your light skin tone. Yellow hijabs look beautiful as they enhance the natural tone of your skin, giving it a warm look.
Have we exhausted all the colors that blend well with light skin tone? Oh! No. Just like black hijabs, white is a standard color that blends with almost all types of skin tone. So, if you don’t find any of the mentioned colors fit, you can settle for a white hijab. One thing I like about white hijabs for a light skin tone is that it gives a graceful look. Next time you run out of options, just try a white hijab. I’m sure you will like it.
Although most people don’t like grey colors, I must say it’s one of those hijab colors that looks perfect with a light skin tone lady. Since most people don’t like it, don’t be afraid to try it out. Besides, it’s good to look unique. So, why don’t you give it a try? I’m sure you will be back to thank me.
There are other colors, although not popular, that can still get your peers envying you the whole day. Dark red, royal violet, canary yellow, emerald, and hot pink colored hijabs will at any point go down well with your light skin tone.
Medium skin tone.
Ladies with medium or neutral skin tone have a combination of both light and dark skin tone. In other words, their skin is neither too dark nor light. Despite these variations, there are hijab colors that still blend with this type of skin tone.
Women with medium skin tone don’t need colors that are too vibrant or too dark. So, what’s our first pick? Maroon. Oh! Yes, maroon colored hijabs go hand in hand with medium skin tones. It’s neither too dark nor shouting hence gives ladies with a medium skin tone that striking look they need.
How about beige? Yes beige hijab. It looks odd and boring, right? You are wrong. Beige is one of the hijab colors that can bring the best out of you if you have a medium skin tone. It’s not a common color but trust me, it looks great on medium skin tone especially if you looking at getting nude hijabs.
I know this hijab color won’t come as a surprise to you. So, what color is it? Black. Yes, black. Like I said before, black is a standard color for all skin tones and medium skin tones is not an exception. Although black is a universal color worn by everybody, it enhances your look especially if you have a medium skin tone. I hope you now you know why people love black.
Another color in my list of colors is sky blue. Guess what? It’s my favorite color. Sky blue hijabs may appear bright but they are right color combinations for your medium skin tone. Other colors that work best with medium skin tone include; light brown, cream white, and olive green. The choice is yours and make your mirror your best friend. It will never lie to you.
Dark skin tone.
Have you ever had of this term “black is beauty”? Yes, black is beautiful and I think ladies with a dark skin tone are lucky. Ask me why? This is the most versatile skin tone that blends with virtually all the hijab colors. However, it is advisable that you avoid those that may come too close to your dark skin tone as they may make you look odd and out of place. So, what hijab colors are good for dark skinned ladies? I said all but let’s look at some specific colors that may go down well with them.
Although all hijab colors can complement ladies with dark skin tone, white hijabs look classic on dark skin tone. A cream white hijab for this matter is a great investment on your wardrobe. Red colored hijabs together with all shades of red are also a great color combination for ladies with dark skin tone. However, dark red is considered the best because it blends well with the dark complexion.
Other colors that blend with dark skin includes; light blue, khaki, pink, purple, and cobalt blue. The general rule of looking good in a hijab for your dark skin tone is to choose hijabs with pastel and neutral shades. Avoid colors that will make the glow of your skin disappear. For instance, yellow, green, orange, or brown.
All said and done, your selection of hijabs can give you a striking look at the end of the day or make you look horrible.
